We thanked him and the bus driver for their professional behavior. On the third day, we were fortunate to ride on a bus with a guide who gave us an historical overview and provided us clear information on where we were and what to do. We would inform them where we wanted to get off, and they acknowledged us, but they forgot to stop the bus so they dropped us off at a different stop. The guide would negotiate with people who wanted to ride the bus offering them an entirely different price without giving them a receipt or ticket. The guides were too busy carrying personal conversations and making deals.

The bus drivers were instead calling out to girls in an unprofessional and offensive way. It was very humid, and they had no air conditioning which probably leads to the reason why the guide on the bus did not explain nor call out the locations we were passing.

We used City Sightseeing for transportation.

If it's too far to Key West, just stop somewhere along the way - it'll be just as nice and half as packed.Ī few weeks ago we had an opportunity to visit Miami. My advice: If you have the option, hire a car and drive yourself down to the Keys. Got home very tired with not much to show for it. The seats were pretty uncomfortable and the air conditioning couldn't be regulated, so we alternated between being freezing cold and boiling hot. The journey back again took longer than the advertised 3.5 hours, this time because of heavy traffic. We arrived at Key West at 11.45 or so, having made a pit stop not in Key Largo, as we were told, but at an anonymous motorway rest stop. The actual departure time, it turned out, was 8am. We were picked up at 6.45 and spent over an hour driving around Miami picking up other guests. While the journey along the keys highway is impressive and Key West is quirky in an interesting way - I would really advise against doing it this way. We booked a day trip to Key West with Paradise Tours - identical to most other day trips available from all kind of outlets.

Better than the air/con which worked neither way. But - buses said KeyWest Tours on side - as did the wifi - which only worked on the way back. Not sure if they are part of Safari Tours - but we booked the tour off their Brochure. We had a lovely lunch but it is not a tour for those wanting to see the town.

We got home one or two hours later than advised. Our guide - Peter disappeared at the first stop back. The coach had a toilet but we were all given the "Only if really needed" speech on the way to KW- so "knew the rules". We stopped once on the way from Miami to Key West at Maccas for a toilet break - 2 toilets available for the women. Even these people said the time was short abd weren't happy This seems to be a trip just for snorkeling, surf gliding etc. If you just want to see Key West - don't go - try another service.
